Novak Djokovic will bid for a 103rd career title after being handed a wild-card entry for the Swiss Indoors Basel on Friday. The hard-court tournament will be played at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland, between October 16 and November 1.
It will be the first time Djokovic has played in Basel since the last of his three appearances in 2011.
The 24-time Grand Slam winner claimed the 102nd title of his career in Beijing earlier this month but then lost his opening match at the Shanghai Masters. Jimmy Connors from the United States of America leads the list for most titles at 109 in the Open era.
Djokovic is a seven-time ATP Finals champion but has slipped to 11th in the Race to Turin standings. Only the top eight players qualify for the November 15-22 showpiece.
Following his defeat in Shanghai, Djokovic had suggested that the Paris Masters in early November would be his only tournament before the ATP Finals.
The wild-card invite comes after the Six Kings Slam, an exhibition tournament in Saudi Arabia, was postponed until late December.

Last Saturday, a deadly missile strike hit Saudi Arabia’s international airport in Riyadh, killing 12 people and injuring over 300 others. It was the deadliest attack in any Gulf Arab country since the start of the Iran war.
Only Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz have so far secured qualification for Turin.
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who had also qualified, has called an early end to his season due to a knee injury, leaving six places still available.
