Anahat Singh will be looking to become the first Indian to win an individual gold medal in squash at the Asian Games as she takes on Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam in the women’s singles final on Sunday.
The 18-year-old Indian entered the final after a stunning win over Japan’s Satomi Watanabe. Anahat came back from two games and two match balls down to win 9-11, 11-13, 12-10, 11-6, 11-3.
Meanwhile, Sivasangari, who is ranked fifth in the world, had a relatively comfortable last-four clash as she overpowered Hong Kong’s Chan Sin Yuk in straight games (11-6, 11-8, 11-7).

Anahat and Sivasangari have faced off twice in professional squash, with the Malaysian winning both matches.

The pair first met in the 2025 British Open, when Sivasangari won in four games – 12-10, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7.
Their most recent encounter happened earlier this month at the London Classic event. The 27-year-old Sivasangari dominated the clash, winning 11-4, 11-4 in a best-of-three-games contest.
