Denmark Open 2026: Treesa-Gayatri pair advances to round of 16; Devika Sihag exits

Indian badminton pair Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand opened their Denmark Open 2026 campaign with a straight-games win over Chinese Taipei’s Yan Fei Chen and Hsieh Pei Shan at the SJF Bank Arena in Odense on Wednesday.

Treesa and Gayatri took 38 minutes to beat their opponents 22-20, 21-14 and advance to the women’s doubles round of 16. They will face Indonesia’s Rachel Allessya Rose and Febi Setianingrum for a spot in the quarterfinal.

However, it was a disappointing result for another Indian doubles pair as Rutuparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda fell to a 14-21, 14-21 loss against China’s Bao Li Jing and Cao Zi Han.

Meanwhile, Devika Sihag’s campaign came to an end with a 13-21, 14-21 loss against Thailand Pornpawee Chochuwong in their women’s singles round of 32 match.
