Parul Chaudhary added another medal to her Asian Games collection after finishing third in the women’s 5000m final at Aichi-Nagoya 2026 on Monday.
The Hangzhou 2023 champion clocked 15:14.61 to take bronze, 4.43 seconds behind Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi, who won gold in 15:10.18. Japan’s Nozomi Tanaka claimed silver with 15:11.65.

It was Parul’s second bronze of the ongoing Games. A day earlier, she finished third in the women’s 3000m steeplechase with a national-record 9:08.67, lowering her previous mark of 9:12.46.
The 31-year-old has enjoyed a strong 2026 season. She opened her steeplechase campaign with 9:12.84 at the Shanghai Diamond League before breaking her own 5000m national record in France in June, clocking 15:04.26. She later finished 13th in the 5000m at the 2026 Commonwealth Games with a time of 15:08.56.
Parul had won 5000m gold and 3000m steeplechase silver at Hangzhou 2023.
