Indian hurdler Jyothi Yarraji did not start in the women’s 100m hurdles heats in the ongoing Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Saturday.
The official Asian Games website had a DNS (Did Not Start) beside her name on the Heat 1 entry list.
The Andhra Pradesh athlete had won silver in the previous edition of the Asiad.
The 27-year is suspected to have been carrying an injury heading into the 20th edition of the Games.
Jyoti failed to finish the 100m final at the World Athletics Silver Level Continental Tour in Bhubaneswar in late August and has been missing from action since.
She did not participate in the Indian Athletics Final Series event at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi earlier this month.
Yarraji began her 2026 season only in June after being sidelined by a knee injury. She is the national record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles with a personal best timing of 12.78s.
