Gulveer Singh bagged bronze in the men’s 5000m final at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Tuesday.
He clocked 13:32.75 to finish third, a timing well off his Personal Best of 12:59.77. Bahrain’s Birhanu Balew (13:30.79) took gold, while Japan’s Tomonori Yamaguchi (13:31.43) clinched silver.
This is Gulveer’s third medal of the Games after he clinched silver in both the men’s 10,000m and 1500m earlier in the competition.
Meanwhile, his compatriot Avinash Sable, who finished fourth in his pet event of men’s 3000m steeplechase with a best of 8:21.67, did not start this final.
