India’s Narender Berwal lost to Kazakhstan’s Aibek Oralbay in the Asian Games 2026 men’s +90kg boxing semifinal at the Nishio Gymnasium on Tuesday.
Oralbay dominated the contest from the first bell, never giving his Indian opponent an opening. The Kazakh boxer eventually won by an unanimous decision (5-0), as Narender settled for a bronze medal.
In the quarterfinal, Narender outpowered Adthapong Saengtep of Thailand, with the Indian being declared victorious by virtue or RSC (Referee Stops Contest) in the first round.
The 31-year-old Narender had won silver at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Earlier in the day, India’s Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal had entered the boxing finals in their respective categories.
