Gulveer Singh won the silver medal in the men’s 1500m at the Asian Games 2026 at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium on Monday.
The 28-year-old registered a Personal Best time of 3:36.72 to finish second behind Japan’s Kazuto Izawa. His previous best of 3:37.87 came at the Music City Track Carnival in Cleveland, USA in May of this year.
The Japanese runner broke the Games Record en route to the gold. His compatriot Nagiya Mori won bronze.
The other Indian in the fray, Yoonus Shah, finished ninth clocking 3:43.88.
This was Gulveer’s second medal of the Games, following his silver in the men’s 10,000m. He had won bronze in the 10,000m at the previous edition of the Games in Hangzhou.
