FA Cup: Harborough Town sign 6ft 9ins striker Kyle Hudlin
Non-league Harborough Town have signed striker Kyle Hudlin, one of the world’s tallest professional footballers.
The 26-year-old, who is 6ft 9ins (2.06m), will be available for the National League North side’s FA Cup first round tie at League One club Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Hudlin, whose former clubs include Solihull Moors, Huddersfield Town and Newport County, most recently played for Nam Dinh in Vietnam’s top flight.
“His attributes will give us more firepower going forward.” Harborough boss Mitch Austin told the club website., external “I’m delighted to welcome him to the club”.
Birmingham-born Hudlin scored 17 goals in 69 appearances for Solihull, including the opener in the 2022 National League play-off final.
He moved to Huddersfield that summer, gaining experience in the Championship, and spent time on loan at AFC Wimbledon, Burton Albion and Newport before leaving the Terriers in July 2025.
Austin said: “I remember watching Kyle score for Solihull in the promotion final at the London Stadium and have kept an eye on his career ever since.
“We met a few months ago through a mutual friend and, when I found out he was a free agent, I was naturally interested. What stood out first was Kyle as a person, before we even got to talking about him as a player.”
Hudlin is the latest player with EFL experience to join the Bees in recent months, following the recruitment of ex-Wigan Athletic winger Michael Jacobs and former Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga.
The Leicestershire-based club last reached this stage of the FA Cup in 2024-25, before they were beaten by Reading in the second round.
